The Hispanic Association on Corporate
Responsibility Announces the Results of its 2007 Corporate Governance Study.
Hispanics remain seriously underrepresented in corporate boardrooms across
the United States,
according to HACR’s newly released corporate governance study. The study
determined that Hispanics make up 14% of the United States population, and
make up only 3.1% of all fortune 500 board seats. More facts concerning
Latinas in the corporate boardroom include:
• Hispanic women held 0.8% of all Fortune 500 company seats in 2006
• Latinas represented 25% of Hispanic Directors in 2006, compared to 12% a
decade ago.
• Nine of the 31 Hispanic women directors, in 2006, served on more than one
Fortune 500 board.
