to the Obama Administration for nominating the first Latina to the Supreme Court!

Obama has nominated U.S. Circuit Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court,
making her the first Hispanic in history to serve in the nation’s highest
court. Sotomayor, 54, will also be the third woman ever to serve on the
Supreme Court. She will succeed retiring Justice David Souter.
Sotomayor was nominated to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals by President Clinton
and is currently based out of New
York. Sotomayor is a graduate of Yale Law School and Princeton
University.
